Kerry's listing of Bush's flip-flops was pretty interesting - all of us know them - I just find it funny that most Reps don't see that same inherent quality in Bush as they do Kerry - ALL POLITICIANS FLIP-FLOP - to use the term as some kind of distinguishing remark is like saying Kerry breathes - no sh*t he's human (well - I think he is - although he reminds me of Herman Munster.)

The problem that most people have with Kerry isn't that he just flip-flops (like you said all politicians flip-flop), its the amount of times he changes sides on an issue. The perception that many people have of Kerry is he changes his mind with regularity.
The things that he has done thus far on his campaign trail has changed that perception (ie acting like he is against the war in Iraq and then making his "knowing what I know now" statement). The majority of his support isn't really for him, its just against Bush. Unless its something incredibly stupid, they don't really care what the hell he says.
BTW For those that want to go after me for pointing out his perceived flip-flop on the war on Iraq, let me repeat its perceived. I don't know whats going on in his head so I don't really know whether he changed his mind or not.
In the eyes of many people he flip-flopped (including some very liberal voters) and this is a big deal because during an election campaign PERCEPTION can decide the outcome of an election.

But again - if this is a race of two guys battling it out for our country -wouldn't it be nice to see them actually debate the issues - so we can get pasts ALL the nonsense with 527s - rock stars (Alice Cooper or the Boss) and the rest of the junk that's floating out there. It would also be great to see the people ask questions - rather than have a set of softball questions that both candidates can drone on about and bore us to death with.

That would be nice but it appears that it won't happen. I think both parties have come to the realization that neither of their candidates are going to win this election by their own means because of how flawed they both are.
They have no choice other than to beat down on their opponent and build themselves up beause they know this a "lesser of 2 evils" election
