If we still lived in the late 18th century, Ron Paul might be the best politician for the job. Unfortunately we do not live in that time period and some of those ideas may not be the best for the direction that the country is headed.
There is nothing outdated in the Constitution. It was made as you said so it can be molded to change with the times and it has. Current politicions made us a federated country. It was exactly what the founding fathers said not to do.

Goal for 2008: Half as many penalties.

I you going to list for me your personal lliberties that you have had infringed or what? Patriot Act as an answer just doesnt cut it.
Do you know what is in the Patriot Act? I have a feeling if you did you wouldnt be asking.
The right for th egovernment to listen to my phone calls or have them screened for keywords without a court order? Thats one of about 200 in that act.
The fact that the federal government is going to decide how our schools should be run and in fact our grades and national intelligence has fallen while the Dept of Education has doubled in the last 8 years. Why not private enterprise take it over and give us choices. Sure you can choose a private school but you still need to pay your public school dues.
You really need to read Ron Pauls book. Or if you have a predjudice against him read anything by George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Taft, John Adams, John Quicney Adams etc etc and you will leanr what I am talking about.
As a matter of fact the quote I made that you are arguing was made by Thomas Jefferson. I hope you are not inferring that you know more about government than Jefferson are you?
