THE single most troubling thing about China
I worry about China a lot, not just because in some ways the represent the biggest clear and present danger to the US from a military aspect, they don't yet but I think soon they will.
The single most troubling thing about them isn't their military or even there eventual challenge to us at some futre date for economic supremecy.
The single most troubling thing about them is that they look now a lot like we did right before the Great Depression.
The last time a world economic power rose this fast was us, the U.S., and although the comparison is very hard to show in real terms because of the huge differences over time and the variety of goods available now as opposed to then, it's still a relatively simple concept.
With China growing like they are and also being too new at it as we were then the time will come either sooner or later when they'll hit the old business cycle wall.
When they do it's going to be a whopper of a fall because that part of the world finances our debt if they stop that for whatever reason as well as hiccup in growth then our economy is going to get blasted hard with no domestic means of recovery.
What's worse is that their own lack of demand for their own goods means that they can't pull themselves out of it. This is going to end up being a stalemate that pops everyones balloon and it's going to be worse IMO than our own version of it.

At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide.
