Rape, Murder Charges for Dad in Baby Death

LINCOLN PARK, Mich. (AP) - A 21-year-old Lincoln Park man faces rape and murder charges in the death of his 8-day-old daughter.

Christopher Ryan Richardson was arraigned in the afternoon on felony murder, first-degree criminal sexual conduct and child abuse charges. A judge entered a not guilty plea on Richardson's behalf.

Richardson doesn't yet have an attorney. He is being held in the Wayne County Jail.

The Detroit News reports the newborn died November 24th from massive internal bleeding and sepsis, a blood infection.

Richardson's preliminary examination is scheduled for December 11th.

Crap like this affirms my stance. Death is more than acceptable for certain crimes. This is one of them.

I've always found it strangely comforting, in a sociological kind of way, that there is a huge line there that even hardcore slit-your-throat-and-laugh murderers won't cross and on the contrary, find completely despicable.
