It's literally a matter of time before someone working on some form of learning based computer program actually causes the computer to become self aware.
At that point, when the computer can learn and become aware on it's own and if it's processing power is great enough, exactly what are the rest of us going to do for a living?
If the computers processing power is great enough, it will learn exponentially faster than we do, it won't have to sleep, it will design new forms of itself and basically warp ahead on dozens of fronts faster than we can keep it fed with new inputs.
Once it perfects robotics then there wouldn't be anything for us ....... ah nevermind
