I think what shakes everyones faith in organized religion is the atrocities committed in the name of religion. A majority of the wars over the past centurys have been over differences in religious beliefs (Crusades, Spanish Inquisition, etc.). Look at the war between the Palestinians and Jews. Look how the terrorists use the mantle of the Muslim faith to justify the slaughter of thousands of innocent women and children. All of these people somehow convince themselves that they are right and because you don't have their beliefs, you are wrong, so they are justified in using any means to change your mind, including death and destruction to innocents.

And who are those Terrorists targeting? The United States because of Christianity.
John 16:2-5
They will put you out of the synagogue; in fact, a time is coming when anyone who kills you will think he is offering a service to God. 3They will do such things because they have not known the Father or me. 4I have told you this, so that when the time comes you will remember that I warned you. I did not tell you this at first because I was with you.
The word used for anyone here is the Greek word "pas" which can mean "collectively as a group" so Jesus is not saying that EVERYONE who kills Christians will think they are doing it for God but there will be groups who do.

Spanish Inquisition a war?
Only if burning witches at the stake in Germany (and America) was also a war...

I would disagree that terrorists are targeting the US because of Christianity. They are targeting us because of our power. They target Hindus, Jews, Buddhists as well.

If it is a "war" as you say, then what the Palestineans are doing is justifiable. But many don't want to give it that kind of legitimacy.
If you actually believe that Muslims are killing people because those people don't agree with their faith, then you have missed the point all along. The Palestineans had their country of about 2000 years taken from them by British and their allies. If I had my country taken away, forcing many of my people to live in refuge camps in other countries, I would fight too.

Seems we haven't had the entire story. The mechanic did take Sanders to court and ... lost. Appearently, Sanders and the mechanic agreed on only $1500 before the any work was done. The mechanic did the extra work without getting Sanders authorization. These are the facts to the case fromm which the Judge's decision was in favor of Sanders.
Sanders says that he never told the mechanic, "This is all Jesus told me to pay you." According to Sanders he handed him the previouslt agreed upon $1500 check and told the mechanic, "God bless you" before driving away.
Maybe it is just me, but it seems that it is the mechanic who is trying to rip off Sanders.
Just thought you guys would like to know the facts and Sanders side of the story.

I read the same thing, and clearly the judge agreed. I have a lot of respect for the reasoning of most judges, so I would have to say that Sanders was right, the mechanic was wrong.

You have probably heard that former NFL Prime-Timer Deion Sanders told an auto mechanic who worked on his 1961 Lincoln convertible that Jesus told him to pay only $1,500 of a $4,265.57 bill.
The Heat Index has vast sources, some in very high places.
Thus, in a blockbuster exclusive, we were able to obtain this transcript of the actual conversation between Jesus and the Neon one.
Deion: Lord, look at this bill!
Jesus: What about it?
Deion: Who's that?
Jesus: Christ.
Deion: That's what I said when I saw this bill from my mechanic.
Jesus: You obviously don't know how hard it is to find parts for a '61 Lincoln.
Deion: You know a lot about this stuff?
Jesus: Deion, do you have any idea how many times a day somebody yells my name from beneath a hood? It's 'Jesus Christ, I hate these emission-control systems,' or 'Christ Almighty, could they make this oil filter any harder to get at?' I get it around the clock.
Deion: I never thought of it. Must be aggravating.
Jesus: It's sort of like those Internet pop-ups. The guy who invented those is going to hell, I can assure you of that.
Deion: Lord have mercy!
Jesus: I'll try. But about that bill, I normally suggest in these situations that you let your conscience be your guide. I mean, I've got enough to worry about these days just with this Catholic mess alone. But I've been meaning to send these mechanics a little message. You tell him you'll pay $1,500 and if he's got a problem with it, just tell him I said so. What's he gonna do? Sue me?
Deion: Actually, he'll probably sue me. I've got more money.
Jesus: Good point, which reminds me: What's up with the cheap tithe?
Deion: What cheap? This is a Villa Bolgheri hand-painted silk job. I paid $200 for this tie.
Jesus: Not 'tie' Deion, 'tithe.' You're supposed to give a little back, you know. My Father only knows you can afford it.
Deion: Um, I couldn't quite make that out. Must be this wireless connection. Let me get back to you.
