(18 ) this calls for WISDOM. If anyone has insight, LET HIM CALCULATE the number of the beas, FOR IT IS A MAN'S NUMBER. HIS NUMBER IS 666.
So when did Satan become a MAN? And if you calculate (using wisdom and insight as the verse prescribes) the number of the beast you get a man's name: NERO.

It could be all in the interpritation of it. Maybe it was man's number, as in the common vernacular.

Using the "what was before the big bang" angle is the same as me saying "what made God."

The only way to get into heaven is to accept Jesus/God into your heart right? If God loves everyone why didn't he send any prophets to Asia/Africa/Native America/New Zealand? Aren't those people screwed because they were never given a chance? If God made the whole world and put everyone where they are, why did all of the prophets come from the same region?
If God made the first people and had direct contact with them (he explicitely told them not to eat the forbidden fruit etc., so he spoke to them) why are there so many religions? If everyone was descended from Adam and Eve and they knew about God, wouldn't everyone who followed? Did everyone somehow forget about an all powerfull being who snapped his fingers and created everything. Where did zeus, Thor, Mars etc. come from?

True... and if you've got an answer pass it on to Krang, he's the one who's in need of convincing. As I said in my earlier post, and given the circular nature of the arguments, it comes down to faith.

It's called sin. That is basically the answer to all your questions. Man sinned when they ate the fruit, and at the tower of Babel, there was so much sin, God confused all their languages and scattered them.
Thus you have different religions delved from different cultures.
We're talking thousands of years here, things will change over time.
And Zeus? Mars? Thor? Uhhh, I'd think proving their existence would be harder than proving God's.

Those are Greek Gods. The Greeks "invented" gods to explain the unexplainable...like why the sun moves across the sky, etc....whole nother can of worms there

I understand that it comes down to faith Northen Card, thats EXACTLY what I believe.
Others on this forum, have claimed that God is proveable.

Not to be picky but they are Norse, Greek and Roman in that order. As far as being invented to explain the unexplainable that's where I think Christianity came from to.

But how do you defend the fact that 666 is the numerological equivalent of NERO, who was the Emperor of Rome at the time that Revelations was written?

I don't need to defend it, because I don't believe it's true.
I'd like to see some proof from you FIRST that Revelations was written when Nero was a live.
That book was written with prophecies for the future, not for the time it was written in.

Except the Bible has proven facts in it dating back much further than any Greek mythology.

As I've said on other threads, I'm having technical difficulties right now: From some reason I can't use search engines, I get an error report everytime.
But I will post all the info soon enough.

I don't back down from any discussion.
As I said I will post all the info soon.....probably tonight. I have a 6:30 English class (Eng 301) and I will try to do some research tonight.
I got most of what I was talking about from a Learning Channel special where they talked about the writer(s) of Revelations.
