The Boss!

Rock icon Bruce Springsteen sent megastar wattage surging through John Kerry's White House campaign, whipping up a crowd of least 80,000 people at a rocking rally in swing state Wisconsin.

"The Boss," famed for hits including "Born in the USA," said Kerry had lived his country's history for 50 years, and painted him as true guardian of the gritty working folk and American fables that people his songs.

Thousands of spectators packed balconies on neat wooden houses along a mile-long stretch of road climbing up the Midwest state's white Capitol, packed with what fire chiefs said was at least 80,000 people.

I have never liked Bruce. And it's not his political bent...that just makes him more meh to me.

It would be cool for someone to photoshop a guitar in Kerry's fist, or a lit lighter.

If I never hear a Bruce Springsteen song again it will be too soon.

And before you politicos jump on me I have felt this way for years. I don't let performers personal views or lives affect my enjoyment of their performance. Of course in this case I would have to enjoy Springsteen's music in the first place.

Blech!

The previous posts beg the question, were the 80,000 people who showed up for the rally there to see Kerry or Springsteen?

Well, he's better than Toby Keith, that's for sure.

He played bass, IIRC.

Which explains a lot, really . . .

Q: How do you get rid of the bass player on your porch?

A: Give him money and take the pizza.
