Since he made the statement, I felt like accomodating him. It was clear he was just going to dismiss everything said to him so I went a road that was more fun.

You may not have liked it, but I thought it was DAN FUNNY.

And I really don't give a DAN that you didn't

(P.S. Want to keep involving yourself in this?)
No you were not debating nicely. You felt the need to throw in many insults. If you call insulting others "debating nicely" you must be one of those two-faced politicians we were talking about earlier.

Like Shawn, you may not be an ass but the only other explanation is you are suffering from PMS.

LOL, personally I don't care. I have pretty thick skin. If you want to have an intelligent debate, fine. If you want to stoop to insulting me because you don't agree with my opinions or how I state them, that's fine too.

I'll weigh in . . .

Whether you're Republican or Democrat, you've got to admit that Clinton wasn't the greatest President this country ever had. Was he the worst? Nah, Hayes was pretty crappy. Clinton is closer to the bottom than the top, though.

My take on the top 5 presidents of all time:

1. FDR
2. Ronald Reagan
3. JFK
4. Teddy Roosevelt
5. Abraham Lincoln

I'd really like to see some of those Democrats among us defend Clinton without stooping to the level of throwing Dubya into the debate. Dubya can't even be graded yet, IMO, because he hasn't concluded his presidency. As it stands, I'd say he's not in the top 10 . . . but he's not in the bottom 10, either. Time will tell.

Clinton did some wonderful things when he was President, most particular among them Welfare reform. But he also did a whole lot of dumbshit things that, for better or worse, will tarnish his legacy forever . . . I purposefully didn't put stain down because the Lewinsky affair, in my mind, wasn't a big deal. He evidently had problems with his wife (understandably, if you ask me). POTUS is a stressful job, I'm sure it was even more difficult being married to a harpy like Hillary.

Where I lost respect for Bill was when he wouldn't come clean. If he had come out and said from the get-go, "Yes, I had an affair. My wife and I were having problems and I needed a friend." I would have totally understood it. Instead, he had to do the whole shuck-and-jive routine in an attempt to get out of it. That's little kid behavior, not adult behavior.
Whoo hoo! Someone I agree with.

I too would say that Clinton was an average President. In fact, your top 5 is almost identical to mine.

Funny how both Republicans and Democrats are on there. People should vote for the better person.

Dan H, excellent post. I totally agree with it except for a little juggling of the Pres.

My take on the top 5 presidents of all time:

1. Abraham Lincoln
2. FDR
3. Ronald Reagan
4. Teddy Roosevelt
5. Woodrow Wilson

I assume you believe this is also debating nicely.

I decided not to let people who ran out of meds ruin this board for me.

Woodrow Wilson's failure to give the League of Nations any teeth after WWI drops him down on my list.

No I don't believe it is debating nicely. When you dismissed everything I said out of hand, you proved to me that you weren't worth the time and effort that I was putting into my responses to you.

That wasn't Wilson's fault. The League of Nations was Wilson's idea. He wanted the USA to be a part of it, but Congress did not. USA's exclusion from the League of Nations greatly disappointed Wilson.

Actually (Smells) Strong Bad, I answered you nicely more than once. You just chose not to read them.

Or perhaps it was a comprehension issue. I am guessing it is the latter.

Though I must say

That I am rather pleased you found them abrasive. If I pissed you off at all towards the end there...and we both know I did.

Mission Accomplished

Ah, it is going to be a fun couple weeks until I am bored with you.

Chris, I am not going to get into this with you. Morality is not subjective. Not planting trees (notices the 2 Es) is not immoral. Do I dismiss your claim about Bush being immoral because he isn't planting trees? Yes I do. Not because it isn't important to plant trees, but because it is not a question of morality but a question of policy.

Yes, I allowed you to get to me, but after some thinking I don't care how childish you act. I am in control of me, not you. You can be as stupid as you want to be.

Almost from the begining you choose not to answer nicely. You started off slowly and built your silly insults up. That is more telling of your character, not mine.

Morality is completely subjective.

Each person has their own set of morals. This is called ethics.

Did you miss out on college pysch?

And not planting trees isn't what is immoral

You again are having a hard time grasping the simplest of concepts.

Changing current laws in such a manner as to reward lobby groups with tax payer money for major campaign contributions is immoral.

You are using our money (taxpayers) to pay off your debts.

That is what Bush did with his first act as president. Many politicians do this, but it doesn't make it right.
