Sun Tzu

I started reading 'The Art of War' last night.

I swear the Chinese verbatim are doing exactly what 'The Art of War' teaches. The book talks about the best warriors are those who fight the war before it even starts. China I believe is doing this by becoming an economic power house and our politics/US business men are to stupid to see it. (Yes I am the smartest person on the planet! HA)

If anyone is interested I will post later this evening some of the proverbs (or whatever they are called) in regards to this.

Has anyone else read tAoW?

Yes, great read. Along with the Prince, essential reading for understanding warfare.

It's at the top of my list. I hadn't thought about a connection with the current China, though. Interesting thought.

Anyone interested in an ASFN P&R Book of the Month Club? That might be fun.

I'm going to expose my ignorance on this topic: Is Sun Stzu Chinese, or Japansese? I would have guessed Japanese.

...not that it really matters for this discussion, I suppose.

Well, since Oprah's credibility is next to nothing right now, maybe I could take her place.

Well, we can consider this a trial run for a future book club thread.

Proceed.

What do you think of the book? Do the teachings still apply?
