Sentenced to three years in prison, Staff Sergeant Johnny Horne was also demoted to the rank of private, ordered to forfeit all pay and handed a dishonourable discharge at a court martial in the Iraqi capital, the army said.A US soldier was jailed for three years for shooting an unarmed and wounded civilian in Baghdad's Sadr City, as Iraqi security forces were again targeted in attacks that killed 11 across the country.
Amid the violence, one US soldier was killed in Al-Anbar province, where renewed fighting erupted in the former rebel stronghold of Fallujah after days of relative calm following last month's blistering assault on the city, the US military said.
This is sick!
The soldier shot a wounded Iraq and he was unarmed! How stupid can he be? Its not like if he went up to hug him he could be killed. Its not like you only know he is unarmed until after he is dead! These soldiers should all be handed over to the iraq security forces and placed in iraqi trials.
If they get beheaded THEY EARNED IT!

Maybe I should say congratulations to President Draft-Dodging Chickenhawk for finally coming up with a "strategy for victory" in Iraq. (Note to President Dubya: A good stratagy for victory is to have a strategy for victory before the war.)
Too bad this "strategy" is the same ol' rehashed "stay the course" blather he's been spewing for the last two years.
Stay what course? The course where you send in just enough troops to lose? Where you ignore pre-war military planning? Where you create a terrorist training ground where there was non before? Where you stretch our military to the breaking point because you thought we'd be "greeted as liberators" and declared "mission accomplished" two months into the war and so didn't plan for a drawn out occupation and bloody insurgency?
Where you like to strut around in a flight suit proclaiming yourself commander-in-chief uttering dangerous inanities like "Bring it on!" yet you don't admit a single mistake let alone take resposibility for your egregious blunders? Stay that course?
God help our troops who are suffering because of his lies.

I don't see how anyone can pass judgement here with so little information. Was the guy just laying there in the street? Was he identified a threat? This is really poor reporting.

What are you talking about? What lies? Bush's plan is working in Iraq and is making progress each day. did you know:

it will never be over. We cannot win a war unless we get help from the UN.
This war is unwinnable. All we are accomplishing is turning those that would have liked us into terrorists. W and his cronies put us there to make themselves rich. They don't care if a soldier is dead or in jail as long as they get their cut.
