Administrative: First item of business is to get our website up and running in a credible way. Amanda Prewett Doss of Texarkana, TX, who handled the '04 campaign, has been engaged to be our website manager, and she has already purchased our domain name http://www.murthalied.com/ What we need to do now it to develop the download folder from which our volunteers will obtain the flyers that they will post on their display boards.
PLEASE keep your eyes open for ANYTHING that could be used (to defeat) Murtha. For the time being, send what you find to me; I have asked a very literate friend to stand by to extract the most salient quotes for posting in large font on our display boards.
Listen, folks! Operation Street Corner will WORK, and I think its effect will, after the election, be measurable. We just need to start small and build to a crescendo in October and culminate in a Rally or some major event just before the election."

What this?? American politics exposed once again??? For shame... For shame... ugly, dirty, grimey politics... This two-party systems sucks huh???
I thought you were going to say that Murtha deserved to be fragged or that He didn't want to serve his country. So you don't just repeat whatever republican talking head says. I must say that I am a little impressed, I definitely underestimated you. Bravo.

Subject: No shame
You people have no shame and are the reason the majority of Americans are disgusted with politics in general.
Your bottom feeding tactics trolling for so called "dirt" is sickening.
You equate dissenting opinion with treason? Are you serious? Murtha fought in a war and has been one of the biggest "hawks" in the democratic party.
Doyou actually think its a bad thing for a person to want parts of the military held responsible for their isolated misconduct?
But people like you, try to mislead the public by equating what he says as an indictment of his brothers and sisters in the millitary on the whole.
Murtha is passionate about having a cogent war plan the does not seem to be forthcoming from the current administration and would like to see our troops home safe with their families.
Yet, you demonize this?
Truly sickening,
Ken S.
Disgusted with Politics and groups like yours from either side of the political spectrum.

It is good that we have people around like you who
make people like me sound like they have measurable IQ's.
And Murtha never raised a rifle or flew a mission or
serve in any other than a rear echelon capacity. But that's not what we're homing in on.
And please tell me where we've used the word "treason."
For further information, stay tuned.

Dear Sir or Madam:
Why am I not surprised you would respond in this fashion? The word treason comes up on the web page for you affiliated buddies over at murthamustgo.blogspot.com.
What other platform do you really have to run on? Seriously?
IS it the old partisan song and dance about how his dissent is giving aid and comfort to the enemy?
Murtha voted for the war based on the intelligence provided before the invasion, but many of your supporters want to play the traitor and liar card because he is not happy with what he views as a failed plan.
He may be overly passionate about what he views as a horrible plan and conditions in Iraq, but for you to claim its anything other than concern for the lives of the troops is politically motivated and misguided in my opinion.
I am tired of all this mudslinging from groups like yours and feel the need to voice it.
If you want to get into a stupid verbal sparring about each other’s IQ because I don't agree with your position that is a "you" problem.
Just know that you cheapen the argument and prove that personal attacks are all that you have to stand on in light of presenting a decent response.

Liberal are gratutious in their invective, yet when ultra conservatives dish it out its called insight I suppose?
Notice in my first email, I noted that I cannot stand groups like yours on either side of the isle.
Groups like yours are only around to muddy the water in place of a real debate on what good for our country.
Personal attacks and character assasination is the only thing groups like yours have.
Undercover guy: "I went out and I got this the fifty thousand, okay? From what you're telling me okay? You're telling me that that's not what you, you know, that that's not . . ."
Murtha: "I'm not interested. I'm sorry."
Undercover guy: "Okay."
Murtha: "At this point."

Anyone in the public limelight is fair game for any and all to attack.
That's where we disagree 40.
To you it is politics and any attack [your own words] is fair game. It matters not if the attacks are justified, based in facts. It's politcis and they all do it.
Well firstly right now it's certainly the extremist of the GOP who are playing the dirty politics game with the most vicious approach.
Secondly I [and many others] do not agree that these attack campaigns are acceptable. It matters not to me which side is doing it. But the Swifties are certainly one of the most unpleasent forms of politics right now.
Reality check here. The opening post on this thread looks like an announcement of a grassroots political campaign, nothing more. There was a solicitation for information on Murtha, big deal. Was there any statement or implication anywhere that they are planning to make up stuff about Murtha?
LC, you don't get to accuse one group of using the word treason simply because another group used the term on its own website.

I agree, I think LIAC and others have overreacted. Doss seems to be trolling for quotes by Murtha that can be used against him--I'm sure his saying that Marines killed civilians in Haditha "in cold blood" is one thing they're after. This is just everyday politics, nothing more.
Unless, because he served in Vietnam, Murtha's untouchable as to his opinions about war and other foreign policy. But I'm sure you don't believe that, because that would prove Ann Coulter correct.

Sure and the Republicans started all this didn't they? Never mind that the nasty side of politics was elevated to a new high by Demos during a Republican president's term and has escalated every since. Just keep your head in the sand and blame the Republicans. It's cleaner that way.
