I welcome dissent, but what Liberman has done is undermine the party, not dissent. He ran as a Democrat in NH and lost and instead of respecting the wishes of Democrats he ran as independent. Now, he is siding with Republicans on all the major issues, and is stumping for John McCain who's entire platform is contradictory to Democratic values.

He turned his back on the Democrats the second he was ousted by Ned Lamont. He is no longer a Democrat IMO and should be booted from the party for he decided to be an Independant Republican a while ago.

LIAC -

You can't "boot" somebody out that has already left.

Lieberman is an "independent democrat" - he isn't affiliated lock step with the DNC follow the link below:

Lieberman lost a primary and ran as an independent in his home state. Ned Lamont lost in the general election by a vast amount. Joe Lieberman still holds many progressive principles but does believe in the Iraq war. I may not agree with his stance on the war, but I can't fault him for holding true to his convictions. From what I have gathered he still holds progressive ideals.

How dare he not tote the party line.

Can you even imagine the chaos of an America where the politicians don't blindly follow party lines like lemmings?

I've always liked Lieberman.

Both political parties can go jump in the lake wearing cement shoes.
