I change my vote based on the commutation...and they will all live happily everafter in Paraguay and/or Dubai...unless George refuses to vacate the throne...then they will all stay in the city by the Potomac.

I think it depends on how bad the GOP gets beat in the election - ironically, I think that the better McCain does, the less likely W will be to pardon Scooter. If it's a total blow out for Obama - Scooter gets his record cleaned.

Scooter totally covered Cheney's ass -- he'll be pardoned.

I saw a lovely bumpersticker:

Quote:
Impeach Bush / Torture Cheney

I dislike most politicians but don't think torture would be a good thing...

Yeah, lovely isn't the right word. How about thought-provoking?

When I first saw it, it sort of bothered me. However, perhaps I finally have come to agree with the many people on the board who feel that sometimes torture can be justified.

Cheney is not a politician. He has personally taken a chain-saw to the U.S. Constitution. He really believes all the fuss about renditions and torture and suspension of habeas corpus is fluff -- overblown nonsense. He personally believes it is fine to seize, detain indefinitely, and torture American citizens, by the way, simply by presidential order.

So while I'll settle for a War Crimes tribunal, I'd probably be just fine with 'what goes around comes around' -- in his case, and for 3 or 4 of his closest subordinates.
