I don't know if you are aware, but gasoline / diesel engines are nothing more than glorified air pumps. The gasoline / diesel combustion is the fuel/power that drives the pump.

You could easily mount a small gasoline engine powered compressor on the car somewhere and go for miles and miles and miles...
This has zero chance of ever seeing the light of day, you can't charge much for air.

the obvious question is what's the difference between this and electric cars?
Electric cars one of the big flaws is all that electricity is produced using fossil fuel(or much of it). With this, all that compressed air is created using electricity which is created by fossil fuels. So the efficiency has to be really good before you're actually reducing fossil fuels?
I also got confused, at one point he said you can go from LA to NY on one tank, but earlier he said the range when sold commercially would be 200 KM?

Russ it has to be the efficiency that drives the energy savings.
Also if you watch closely they mention the one that travels that far has a gas powered modification to it which I think means something like I said, a gas powered compressor.
The second guy has the design right, using a regular engine would be I'd think much less efficient, the second one just needs a gas powered compressor on the vehichle to recharge the tank.
I'll say it again, this guy is going on the Putin welcome list.
