Question for P&R folks.
When you hear references being made regarding the Taliban and Al Qaeda do you view both groups as terrorist organizations?
Or the Taliban for religious extremism and Al Qaeda as a terrorist group?

I don't know if it's accurate or not, but I think of terrorists in both cases.

Taliban=religious extremists
Al Qaeda=terrorists
They're similar but the Taliban supported the actions of Al Qaeda while not participating in terrorist actions themselves.

The Taliban rose to power by exercising terrorism on the Afghan people.
And I got tired of the asinine (no pun intended) user name I started out with, so out with the old, in with the new.

The Taliban supported Al-Qaeda by offering them safe haven inside Afghanistan to plot terrorist attacks, so I consider them both to be terrorist groups.

The admins can change it for you so you don't have to make a new user name.

I always thought of the Taliban as power hungry religious extremists who impose their will on others through intimidation (subsequently I've never understood why people get warnings and bannings when comparing extreme Christian fanatics to the Taliban).
Al Queda = terrorists
