Man are we Americans stupid!!!!

Dow, S&P end at record highs

NEW YORK (Reuters) -U.S. stocks surged on Thursday, with the Dow hitting a record on its biggest point gain in more than 4 years, after healthy retail sales reassured investors about consumer spending and a $38 billion mining takeover fed expectations for more deals. The S&P 500 also ended at a record closing high.

Dow up 283 points... Jobless claims down another 12,000... 10 year yields remaining in check...
But what really stumps me is oil continues to shoot upward with little impact on our economy... strange...

High fuel prices are effecting some folks - mostly lower income. But big money is being made in oil. According to an article from cnn.com today, Mobil is the #1 company in profits earned this year.

I would have thought the same, however Retail Sales for the 2nd quarter exceed expecations... Target, Walmart, JC Penny, American Eagle, Costco... all posted better than expected earnings and same store sales.

As for Mobil (which is actually ExxonMobil) being the #1 company in profits - do you happen to have a company that would you prefer to see as the #1 company in profits?? Which company would cause less pain to you if they were the #1 company in profits??

True enough. Should have stated something about finite resources there.

Really it needs to get a whole lot more bullish here 82 before the good ole crash, keep it up your feeding the fires.

We shall see.

Oh did Wall Street hold that 14k? hmmmm I really wish they had and it would of zoomed higher, we need some more of your line of thinking to set this up properly for me to make a killing on.

I'm so tempted to claim you are the true Boy Who Cried Wolf!!!!
But, as I have said, I have no doubt that one of these days, weeks, months or years, the correction will occur. Not "your" correction, but one that will be quite helpful and no represent yet another glorious buying opportunity!!!

As for you making a killing - congrats CD!! I prefer to make my money betting on optimism, growth, prosperity, versus your doom and gloom, end of the world platform. But hey, to each his own...
Try to smile CD, your day can't be too far off, can it??

As one esteemed member once said, "hey, I'm helium dude"!!!!

And I never insinuated that you would not make money... I simply said I prefer to make my money in bullish form versus your hyper-bearish manner...
Now, go back to checking the days off on your end 'o world calendar!
