North Korea Admits to Making Nuclear Weapons!

Ok I read in the paper today that North Korea has fully admitted to refining the uranium in the spent fuel rods that they have. They then stated that they did so with the full intenetion of making as many nuclear weapons that they can from the plutonium.

They stated that they need to do so as a deterrant so they can keep the U.S. from attacking them.

As far as Im concerned thats all I need to hear and we should go in there and wipe there asses all over the place. The last thing we need is a crazy dictator like that with his finger on the button.

What do you think?

We really don't need another war, but this kind of stuff should not be tolerated. I would like to get Osama and Saddam first, and then go to Korea.

You'll be waiting a long time for that wish list. By the time your wishes will be granted the N. Koreans will have several fully functioning niclear weapons.

So what would be the point in waiting?

calm the F down

The Soviet Union had a bunch of nukes AND dictators. Who are we to point? Ask the residents of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. N Korea launches a couple at us, we obliterate them.
It's the height of arrogence to think only WE can have something and other countries can't.... Power will win, but there is no "right" or "wrong" to the situation.

BING BING BING! Dead on Andikrist. I get so sick of people in this country getting all high and mighty about other countries nuclear programs when we're sitting on the largest arsenal in the galaxy (as far as we know, heh)...

Has nothing to do with being high and mighty. I have no problem with many of the other countries that have them around the world.

But there president Pyonyang Jr. is a complete bafoon. He is considered to be one of the fiercest dictators on the planet! He is exactly the type of person that would use them in a strike first mentallity. Or just to get back at us or someone else for economic sanctions.

He is exactly the type of person who would sell them on the open market.

If your willing to risk that more power to you! But not me!

To me, it is a great enigma why the Libs don't support military actions. I think the main purpose of the governemt is to protect us from any attack.

I just can not understand their mentality. Somebody is a threat to us, let's just be their friend, try to understand what they want, and make a compromise, and live happily everafter.

I can't wait untill 2004 election to see what American PEOPLE think. Would they rather be nice and pray nobody will attack us, or would they rather have a strong America, destroying any threat to our security.

I'm with you Shane, we need to stop North Korea, but we are already spread out all over the place and I don't like that from the military point of view. I think we should withraw our troops from Germany, Balkans, etc, and focus on those places that are a legitimate threat to us.

MAD

Remember that old strategic doctrine? It kept a relative peace between USA and USSR. We do have something to fear from STATELESS terrorists, not so much from any NATION...

This is China's problem not ours. We should force them to deal with it.

i'm calm the hysteria resides w/ those who fear north korea - their dictator knows that if he ever tried to launch an attack on our country, his would be melted down. We're too big for him to destroy us. That's why I'm calm. In the 70's, I used to have dreams that there was nuclear war w/ USSR. That threat was real. Now I dream about Sept 11 time to time - burning buildings, arabic looking guys trying to kill me...
