Kerry takes lead in Gallup poll
Kerry had been trailing by 8 points only two weeks ago in the gallop poll, which admittedly weights the poll to Republicans.
http://www.usatoday.com/news/politic...todaypolls.htm
Poll also had Kerry winning the second debate by a 15 point margin.

I got a kick out of a couple of items in the poll. They asked who was more believable. Bush got 50% and Kerry got 40%. They asked who would be more likely to keep their campaign promises. Bush got 48% and Kerry got 42%. They asked who is a more strong and decisive leader. Bush got 56% and Kerry got 38%. Looks like a lot of voters are paying a lot more attention to the election this year.

Of course, more people think that Kerry is honest and trustworthy, cares about people, expresses himself more clearly, and has a plan for the country.
Wide margin think Kerry is more intellegent.....

Kerry's up 47% to 44% in the Zogby poll also - but both ABC and AP both have Bush up 50-46%.
This is going to come down to the wire.

I understand Florida's election costs are going up again as Al Gore has filed suit against them to hire more "hanging chad" counters before the election.

Not even. I'm pissed at the Dems getting such a hack to go up against a President with so many problems he should get clobbered out of office. Look at the electoral projections from a Dem friendly site:

A hack??
John Kerry is 100 times the man George Bush could ever dream to be. W = worst - as in worst president ever. Don't fall for the Republican smear campaign against Kerry - he has been an outstanding senator and true American hero.

Yep, a hack. A guy who perfectly plays the political game of talking big and making decisions based on polls and never putting himself at risk. And, I formed that opinion when he was still an afterthought as a Dem, long before the Repubs started taking shots at him.
I was not that impressed with the Dems group overall. I liked Leiberman and Clark. When Kerry got the early lead and then the rest of the party tanked it for him, I was very disappointed. And, I'm not over it. He was in the right place at the right time, selected with that sort of unity only because Bush is so hated by the Democrats. If he was such a great American hero, he'd be killing Bush by 20 points.

I don't know, I think the democrats could have looked a little harder and found someone a little better than Kerry. I'm a republican but I'm not in love with Bush. If a good democrat had come along to challenge him and had a clear stance and a good political history I would have voted for him. Kerry isn't that man. I think most people who are going to vote for kerry is because they just don't like bush.
hence the site
http://www.johnkerryisadouchebagbuti...himanyway.com/
Also, what I find very interesting about that electoral vote page is that the states that are strong bush... well they, for the most part, are very strong bush. Usually but close to 20%. Those that are strong Kerry are typically only 10%. The big states areusually Kerry but the lead isn't that huge. Bush needs to keep all the smaller states he can to win the election.
