GW's numbers take a hit.
According to Rasmussen the Dubai fiasco scored political points for the democrats inwhich the public has more confidence in them than GW.

But he didn't even know until it was already approved. How is it his fault?

As many hits as he has taken so far this second term I am pretty shocked he is still standing... Metaphorically, of course...

I have a sickening feeling that this whole issue is a cloaked attempt at allowing Republican hardliners to come off as moderates when they kill this issue over the lame duck's veto. Just in time for mid term elections. This admin needs to maintain the majority to stay out of jail.
Flat ass guarantee any betting man that this issue and the resistive stance will be a focal point in any re election strategy.

I envision another GOP victory in November. The posturing around this issue is very shrewd triangulation.

Wow. I thought it would sound too paranoid if I posted those same general thoughts.

Paranoia can be remedial in this era. An open mind can take one down the path of reality, but then the accusations of conspiracy lunacy are the residual effects. Just a whole world full of coincidences is more palatable to most.
P.S. I have feeling this thought will get bypassed in the discussion.

It's an awfully thin issue for the 'pubs in Congress to grab on to. They've signifcantly cut funding in that area, and just now they found Jesus???
I don't know if this is a put up or not, but I guess in the end, it doesn't matter (for the sake of this discussion, anyway.... )
Any debater worth his salt should be able to jam that on them.... especially with their track record on a number of other issues. However, if the Dems continue to play nambi-pambi (the Dukakis/Kerry way of playing), the pubs could actually make some voters believe them.....
