there were gangs in the military when I was in the USAF 16 years ago. We had graffiti on base and punks in uniform. Its just getting worse.
Yeah, I think the report wasn't very clear. I think they were trying to state gangs are sending people into the military to learn street tactic's so they can apply them in their environments.
I new several gang members in the Marine Corps but there is also the chance of them waking up and realizing the gangs they were in were nothing but trouble.
Of course that video of the POSSOB shooting down those cop's was insane!!!

Yea i believe thats what they were getting at too. That video was insane. Although those cops should have been much more tactical in their approach especially for a shots fired call.
I do believe you have just as good a chance that some will grow up while in the military as well.

Gangland had an entire episode dedicated to this. It was crazy. Bringing military tactics to the streets is not muy bueno.
I was gonna post the same thing when I saw this thread. That was one of the more frightening episodes. From what I remember, the odds weren't good that the gang member would be able to completely cut ties with his old crew. They typically fall back in with the old crowd and with a lot of new skills to offer his gang.
Sagging your pants, flashing gang signs, or walking with a pimp while in uniform was a very quick way to get yourself hemmed up on my ship. Sadly it took a few times to get thru to a bunch of individuals.
