Navy slang for teaching someone a lesson. The term actually comes from opening someones rack while they are in it and securing it open so that they are stuck in it and then leaving them there for a few hours. But it has evolved into being a term for any type of punishment onboard a ship, from court marshal to getting a "lesson" from your fellow sailors.

We had "towel party" in the Army. As in when people were effing up we'd tell them to get squared away or we'd be throwing them a towel party that night.

Random drug testing and a zero tolererance policy has cut drug use in the military drastically.

After you see 1 or 2 guys get dishonarably discharged after spending two months on restriction and extra duty at half pay, the message sinks in.
