Former Mayor of New York

I believe his name is Ed Koch and he is a Democrat.

Was being interviewed on Fox News yesterday and he stated that he doesnt agree with one single aspect of Bush's domestic policies.

He did say however that he will be voting for Bush in this election. He said that his party(Democrats) doesnt have the stomach or the guts to do what it takes to protect this country. He said he can admit that.

For that reason and that reason alone he will be voting for Bush. He stated that you wont be able to enjoy your life domestically if you are afraid of being attacked and unsafe inside your borders. He believes that if kerry wins we are in big trouble when it comes to terrorism.

Wow. That's pretty huge. Correct me if I'm wrong (like anyone needs that caveat around here) Koch is still pretty popular, I think.

So the 2 of you are jumping for joy that Ed Koch said this, yet you don't even know who he is.

No, I'm not sure where you got the idea for either of those things. I think an "endorsement" (as backhanded as it is) from Koch could be a huge boost to Bush's campaign...only I don't know whether or not he's still as popular as he was when he was in office. Even if I were sqaurely in Kerry's corner I could say "wow, that's huge" without jumping for joy--maybe I'd be jumping off a bridge.

It's simply a statement, Wally, not a partisan statement.

Where did you see me jumping for joy? I thought it was very interesting. Thus I posted it.

Personally I believe it to be true. If Kerry wins we are in trouble.

He was the mayor of New York for 12 years and like Pariah said is still very popular. So his opinions carry someweight whether you like it or not.

I have always liked Koch. He had a talk show on MSNBC (I think) that was rather entertaining. Why haven't fomer NYC mayors made a bigger splash nationally? I Guilianni would make a great candidate for president in my opinion.

Guiliani would win this election hands down, IMO. Handing NY during 9/11 the way he did completely eclipses any (infidelity) skeletons he has in his closet.

I guess you guys are right. When I see someone write , " I believe his name is Ed Koch and he is a Democrat" or " Koch is still pretty popular, I think" , I jump to conclusions.

Is a defender of the left worse than a Crusader for the right?
