Fahrenheit 911 hits Videostores October 5th

I was in Blockbuster yesterday and they are already running the ads for this in their stores. Haven't seen it yet, won't affect my vote. But I'm wondering if the timing of this before the election will have any effect.

I'm gonna rent it. I don't think it'll sway my vote either way.

What about all the people who don't pay attention to politics, but sure the heck rent a lot of videos. The danger is they may give undue weight to this movie, which has some good points to it, but is also flawed in some respects.

Tell them to put it in the fiction section.

Honorable John Ashcroft will probably remove it from the library anyway, after arresting everyone who watches it.

That's a good idea! More people should donate books and movies to their local libraries.

It will be interesting to see how many will be sold between now and the election, I think they track that kind of thing, or at least how much money the sales bring in.

I watched this movie for the first time last night. I had read the reviews and thought that it confirmed a great deal of what I believe about the Republican party. IMO the film did not go far enough in exposing the "elite" base that the President and his henchmen have. It went along way to showing why we should not go to war with out first having a superior groundforce to occupy the country we are taking over. The deaths of the soldiers at this point is due to poor planning by this administration. It was a moving peace seeing the Ladies reaction to her sons death and a grim reminder that most of the ones who die over there are young recruits who were joining the military to get an education from the GI bill or family men that were in the National Gaurd. The soldier that said he made 3k for the same job that a Halliburton driver made 10k for was very telling as to why the military is there in the first place. The taxpayer can foot the bill for the Oil industries security instead of Brown and Root. I really would hope that millions of voters are not disenfranchised in the upcoming election as it was in 2000. I remember watching in disbelief when the Fox people made there announcement. I was able to watch the Miami-Dade County Fox channel at the time and they were stunned. You could almost feel in the air at the time that a coup had happened and that there was little if anything all the voters could do about it. I really am glad that a film maker took on this subject matter and tried to explain what happened even if it is a bit slanted view. I will allow my children to watch this and form there opinion about how our system really works. They will eventually I hope be forces for change in our political system and I would want them to stay open minded as we all should be. I am a liberal with core values and I call a spade a spade. It is a shame that so many just tote the party platform so they can feel important.
