In the past 3 years: We financed a war and a half, had the single worst terrorist disaster that almost single handedly ruined our economy....what do you want?

I guess I'm with you on that point Renz. When you see it in picture for, though, it does make you wonder.

That still doesn't mean it is good. Necessary? Yes but not good.

In times of econonomic slowdown, deficit spending by the government is actually crucial to get things back on track.

Of course, we have never had this level of deficit spending, so it will be interesting to see how it goes.

Don't forget to add multiple tax cuts into the deficit equation.

In reference to dollar level, you're quite correct. How much money in dollars (normalized to 2003 value) did the New Deal pump out, though?

From what I understand, it is a percentage record as well, but they may have just been talking about the last 30 years or so - didn't hear it all. Would be a good and meaningful stat.

It is the highest in terms of dollars, but in terms of percentage of GDP, it is so much lower than even the Reagan years.

I'm not worried, and Dan is correct.

The tax cut was stupid.

They try to cut the budget from things people need, like edu.

If he really wants to save money, he should stop the testing which each state does (AIMS). Those are the biggest wastes! My 10 year old sister could pass them!!!

Those are paid for by the state, not the Federal government. Also, a lot of kids didn't pass the test....what does that tell you

Uh, show me one program where dollars were cut. Hell show me one program where dollars were cut even using the rediculously evil baseline budgeting.
