No. I also didn't miss the part where the governor refused to declare a diaster area so that the federal government could take over. Until that is done, the state is in charge.
This is just the same old crap of blaming everyone else for your own shortfalls. The reason those people are still in those camps is because the local officials have syphoned all the money off for their own pet projects instead of using that money to rebuild home for these people.
Giving credibility to the guy who wrote this is just amazing. Of course, what should I expect. You guys believe everything Michael Moore says.

Evidence that this is the specific reason for this appalling situation?
Oh, wait, this is just the same old crap of blaming everyone else for your (administration's) shortfalls.

Dj has posted it on here numerous times and I don't feel like wasting my time to look it up again. One of the guys I work with is from the NO area. His parents still live there and he goes to visit twice a year. The big scuttlebutt right now is how Nagan and his cronies have all the federal monies tied up and are doling it out for political favors. This graf and corruption in this area is as bad as it is in Iraq. How do you help someone who refuses to help themsleves?

I willing to drop all the other arguements about the guy and move on, simply help us impeach him and Cheney, install someone else to finish the term and then we'll all just move on....
Deal?

The crux of the article is about 1500 dead people who might not be dead , had the Federal info not been with held from local people who you think made bad decisions. Does that sound familiar, as in , going to war based on bad info aka lies. The aftermath has been turned over to Federal authorities, as you would like, but now you have a continuing ongoing disaster. Oh btw, the federal response was to send in Blackwater to herd the people and threaten them at gunpoint. Come on man, these are American citizens and human beings.
Maybe I am a bit biased because I live in South Florida, which could turn into another New Orleans levee situation anytime now, thanks to a poorly designed and dilapidated Flood Control System, designed and built by the same Army Corps of Engineers in the 1930s. They put together the Lake Okeechobbee levees system to open up land for Big Sugar and real estate developers. Where would you have the 10-12 million people currently living in a flood plain called South Florida, move to before the disaster?

Nope. I don't see impeachment for anyone. If something like this does happen, when the Republicans get back into power they will do the same thing. It's a stupid political trick and has no place in current politics. Unless the Demo and Repubs tone down the rhetoric and get this country back to where we can reasonably discuss differences without pure hate and unreasonableness involved, this country is going to wind up in another civil war. And I am dead serious about this.
