I believe that Phil indeed had the payphones.

However, I do not believe the he ever had a camera. That was a sham.

I do believe that Phil had access to a computer, but that might be a sham, as well.
I am not certain whether or not Phil exists. Phil could be a sham, foisted on us by Yankee fans with bad intentions.

Here's a question for you all. There are A LOT of ASFN members that obviously posted on the payphone thread. I'm sure that at least ONE of us lives near enough to poor Phil that someone could have volunteered to drive to his house and take a pic of the payphones, if they indeed existed, and then post it for him! So why didn't someone do this, or is this all part of the mystery of whether or not the phones even existed, because no one knew where "Phil" lived? Hmmm......

No one wanted to be "that guy" ringing the doorbell and explaining to the parents that they were invited by their 14 year old son (via cyberspace) to check out his collection of phones...

I can't remember the last time I laughed THAT hard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But come on, it could have been done properly. Like call and talk to the parents, because they, I'm sure, would have cleared up the "do the phones exist" situation. If they didn't, Phil would have been in a heap of trouble. If they did, then I'm sure the parents would have been happy to actually get rid of them and make a few bucks!

Yeah, when Phil said, "Just come on over, I live across the street from the Elementary School".

I pictured about 24 FBI agents sitting in an unmarked van somewhere in Peoria waiting for me to take the bait. Like "payphones" was code for sodomy.

I would have been a "Dateline Exclusive"
