XP Detecting Slave HD

So I got my new hard drive today to replace the one that fried. I'm setting it up as a primary slave and bios detects it. I can't get the hd to come up in Windows though. Is there some trick i need to do?

If it is not formatted it will not have a drive letter.

Right click on MY Computer and choose manage. Go down to disk management. You should see it in there if BIOS recognizes it.

There you can format and assign a drive letter to it.

Good Luck B.
