purchasing a new comnputer
Anyone on the site build or resell computers. I have on older Sony that is starting to give me some trouble and am thinking on getting a new one. Used mostly for home computing, internet and minor gaming.
Let me know what is available.

Compaq/HP has come a long way in quality and customer service.
You can actually find a Dell for under $899.00 if you wait for the system you want to go on sale.

BUY A MAC AND BRING IT RIGHT BACK!!!I LOVE APPLES STUFF BUT HARD TO GET USED TO IT.SOFTWARE YOU HAVE TO WAIT MONTHS AFTER IT COMES OUT AFTER BEING RELEASED ON PC.HERES MY POINT,GO ON EBAY AND LOOK AT MOST OF APPLES COMPUTER,MOST COMMENTS SAY.GOOD DEAL ON HARDLY USED MAC.NEVER GOT USED TO IT.FOR C.A.D. AND MAKING MOVIES APPLES ARE GREAT.BUT LEAVE APPLE AT THE WORK PLACE.I BET THAT PEOPLE THAT OWN MACS OR APPLES ,80% USE THEM AT WORK.LEAVE THEM THERE.

I think I've posted this before, but this is the site I check if you want good deals on a Dell. Usually they have a link to a new deal on a Dell desktop or laptop every day.

You can also look at the Dell outlet, they have a changing selection of refurbished computers that still have a full warranty.

Tony.........What the hell are you saying?
Point is that I have 3 Macs and love them. EASIEST computer and software to use in the world. I absolutely firgging hate PC's. I feel like I am slumming every time I use one.
Here is a great starting point for switching to a Mac

If you want to do ANY gaming at all you will stay away from Macs. Besides Mac's are the biggest ripoff around. They charge you for every single little OS upgrade and out the roof for hardware and thus have limited upgrade potential. As opposed to PC's which you can upgrade as you go as well as not have to pay Microsoft everytime they release a service pack to Windows. My advice is go to a library and check out a couple DIY PC books then head on over to Newegg.com and save yourself a few hundred dollars. You can even keep your older system to play around with so you can get the hang of putting and pulling systems apart. Besides when you are your own customer support you don't have to worry about being outsourced to India. Nothing worse then calling a company and not even able to communicate much less get help because of a language barrier.

Let's put it this way: PC's crash all the time and Mac's don't.
Let's use the analogy of a car:
You are going to work and you need to take your car (PC). YOu get in and it starts but it doesnt go anywhere. Worse it gets you down the block and it dies on you. You are late for your job and your boss gets on your ass for being late again. It is all due to the fact that you have a piece of shiite machine to do a important job for you. Save yourself the hassle, stress, and the pissed off glances from your boss and buy a Mac. It will take you there in style, it works ALL THE TIME, and it is the simplest machine to use.

They do? My Win XP Pro box has an uptime of going on 3 months now. Mind you this is not only the server for a 6 system LAN but also my main gaming/work rig so if that isn't stable I don't know what is. Oh and my mouse has 6 buttons are you still using that god awful 1 button mouse?
