Purchased a PS3 for my Blu-ray player

My HD-DVD player has been having problems and it finally went out. So I decided to take the plung into Blu-Ray and purchased a PS-3. Everything I've read on the internet said that the PS-3 was the best Blu-Ray player on the market for the price. The movies indeed looks and sounds great.

However I have a major Gripe. I can't believe that Sony didn't put an IR sensor on this thing! I was trying to set up my Harmony 880 last night to control the Blu-Ray player on the PS-3 only to find out I have to buy a bluetooth remote. WTF! Are you kidding me. Sony has us by the balls. So now I have to go out and buy a $25 PS-3 Blu_Ray remote so my mom can figure out how to play movies for the kids. On top of that I'm dropping another $20 on some IR to Bluetooth converter so that some day I'll be able to use my Universal Remote.

I can't believe that Sony never even addressed this. They don't even offer a converter. You have to buy some cheesy 3rd party remote and use the USB IR adapter that comes with it. As a home theater enthusiast I just find this very lame.

It's the biggest reason why I'm holding off on buying any remotes in hopes that Logitech or someone will incorporate the PS3 into their's. Almost bought the PS3 remote, but I think the controller does fine for me for now.

Logitech has no plans on making a bluetooth remote at this time.

Crap, I posted all of them on Ebay yesteday. Only had five left though as I sold most of the ones I wasn't crazy about when Blu-Ray became the obvious winner. Here is what is up on Ebay(mike89t).

Letters from Iwo Jima
Hulk
Planet Earth
Galapagos

My favorite and I already bought the Blu-Ray version.

It's up on ebay already so you would have to bid on it. Free shipping if you pick it up.

Oh and I think I might still have IMAX Blue Planet on HD-DVD that I didn't post on Ebay yet. I have to check when I get home.

If you consider cancelling your eBay order (hate their damn fees) I'll grab Galapagos and IMAX from you.

Too late, someone just bid on my Galapagos HD-DVD.

Sorry about that.

You should be able to still cancel it with eBay if you say that the disc is damaged or unavailable or something like that.

Oh well. I'll keep an eye on the auction.
