So I was just playing COD4 on PS3 on my purchased in November 2007 (from Newegg), Olevia 37" LCD HDTV. Right in the middle of a game, the screen went out and the power just DIED!!! I think there was a strange sound as well.
Any ideas? I already tried using my power cable from my laser printer, which fits, thinking the power cable went out but is not working.
Has anyone else experienced any issues with an LCD TV?
Oh well, I guess I'll have to call tomorrow

I have not but it sounds like an internal power issue. Especially, if your hearing a buzz of hiss out of the TV.
At least it's under warranty. If you hear a buzzing noise, it is usually not from the power cable. Sounds like a transformer went out. Pricy to replace, but you are good with your warranty.

Well, after reading other stories online of OLEVIA's crappy customer service and the same problem after about 5 months, I decided to call them and get the process started.
First, I called Dubai or Buhrma, or wherever it was where you have to have them repeat everything ten times and they still get your info wrong. I actually held the first time for about 10 minutes, but there was no music and I hung up, right when doing so, someone answered.
Called back, on hold for 15 minutes, spk with moron and told him the power went out. He told me to unplug it and plug it back in....NO SH**!!! God, seriously, like someone wouldn't know the power was out, especially since I told them the power went out, I tried another power cable and that didn't work either, that the TV just "went out", and was dead with NO POWER!!!
Then, I was transferred to LEVEL 2!!! That was about a 5-10 minute hold, where I spk with a hispanic guy in Cali who was actually harder to understand....
About 20 minutes later, I was all done. They got my name, email address, and serial number, and gave me a fax number.
Now, I have to fax my proof of purchase to the number they gave me. Then, in 7-10 days, I MAY OR MAYNOT get an email with an address where I can pay for shipping to send my broken TV to. If I don't get an email after 10 days, then call back and they said they will give it to me over the phone, but that they couldn't give it to me now???
So, I sent the fax yesterday and now I sit and wait to see where I need to send my TV, then I need to pack it, pay for shipping and send it off, then maybe, just maybe, they will send me a new one or one that is broken much like my PS3 when I went through a similar process.

I'm sorry to hear about your luck man. I won't be buying an Olevia now though.
I friend at work has a 37" Olevia...It broke and he went through the warranty process...had a new tv shipped to him...shipped his broken one back...then a week later got another tv shipped to him...Basically got 2 tv's for the price of one.

I'll trade him one straight up. Actually, I'm debating buying one at TARGET and throwing the broken one in the box and returning it...

There's a serial number on the tv and the box that must match.
I worked for TARGET for 9 miserable years, and they DON'T check, only on PS3's and XBOXES. The problem is that the TV's they sell are Black and mine is silver, but I doubt that some 16 year old girl text messaging behind guest service would really notice. I'll check it out this weekend and let you guys know...
So it's been almost a month since I started the refund process with Olevia, and I finally got a call (NO EMAIL) from them, called them back, on hold for half hour. They had the wrong email address even though I gave the correct one to two different people. They say I should get an email today (they told me this at 5pm), but still no email. This email is supposed to tell me the address where I can send the broken TV.
