Always hated that damn shuffle anyway.

Depends on the BIT rate of the MP3. Average would be around 128kbps which would be around 3-4 mb's per song. I have some that are 320kbps and they are 10 Mb's.

I got my first MP3 CD deck (Kenwood) back in 2002 and was rocking 167 songs on a CD way back then. I don't understand why more people never took advantage of this.

I used to run an audio out from my old deck to my ipod, but the quality isn't nearly as good as CD.

Now I have an alpine deck that plays MP3 CD's AND has the jack to charge and play my IPOD in the glove box. However, the CD's sound more crisp and clear.

I really like Pioneer. I had one of their newer model decks in my last car that I just sold. It was nice, played MP3, WMA, had the I-Pod Jack, and it was pretty cheap. I just had it installed at Best Buy. I like them because they are very easy to figure out, the controls seem more logical then some other brands to me.

Congrats on the purchase, I'm sure you'll love it.

Update

I also bought a system from http://www.proclipusa.com/ to hold my portable media player. The aux cable comes from the back of the new receiver and I plug it into the media player. It works very well.

I would suggest anyone looking into something like this check out ProClip. It's kind of expensive, but the mount is custom made for your car model, meaning that it just clips in and there are no screws or anything. On top of that, the holder for your media player is also custom made. The whole system is very sturdy and also flexible enough so that you can tilt in up/down and left/right.
