Downloading music and MP3 players

Ok, I am totally clueless about downloading music - I thought it was illegal but not anymore?

Anyway, got a new Palm and it has an MP3 player (yes, I know but I don't want to spend half an hour reading the manual). In a nutshell, where do I get the music from and how do I transfer it in MP3 format into an SD memory card? I have the SD card reader and I'm thinking I can just pop the SD card into my Palm and listen to the music? The Palm has a Real Player Mobile on it.

Thanks!

Sorry I barely know how to turn on my computer........

I'm just guessing here but doesn't your palm have a usb cord to connect to the computer? If so you should be able to transfer files over to it like its an external drive....

No, swapping copyrighted music with a program like Kazaa is still illegal. There are sites now like Itunes that let you pay a buck to download a song and there are many up and coming bands that offer free mp3s to get their music out.

Unfortunately, I don't see an easy way to avoid this. In general, your palm and/or card reader will create a folder on your PC. After you download the music, you will have to copy the mp3 file to your PC folder. But each device is different in terms of folder name/location and transfer commands.

Sorry - wish I could be more help

LOL, DJ you're not fooling me!

I guess my main question is where do you go to download the music and is it free? The rest I can figure out once I get that part done.
