Computer disaster

Something happened to my Mom's computer and she was running recovery disk and something else happened, either the computer was turned off our the power was shut off.

Long story short, her computer now doesn't recognize that she has a cd-rom and won't rerun the recovery disk.

Suggestions?

If the machine can boot back into Windows, you should be able to reinstall the driver for the CD Rom.

Does it recognize floppy?
Does the bios see the cd-rom?

Boot from a win boot disk if needed.
