How are they supposed to be this year? The Mercury I mean. Any chance they can bring a championship here?

Well, they narrowly missed out on the playoffs last year, but finished 2nd in the WNBA Draft Lottery, and got a big upgrade at the Head Coaching position (Westhead). They need help defensively, but the offense is there, with Taurasi, Taylor, Vodichkova, Stepanova and Irvin. They just need a stopper or two.

If the Russian giant plays the whole year they can contend.

Comparing Phoenix to the other teams in the league, we are tied with three other teams with the most nationally televised games (5).

Obviously Sacremento and Connecticut have the most because they were in the Finals this past summer. But it's still nice for us to get some exposure, even though we finished 5th in the Western Conference.

Here's the breakdown of nationally televised games by team:

Connecticut (5)
Sacramento (5)
Phoenix (5)
Houston (4)
Seattle (4)
New York (4)
Los Angeles (3)
Washington DC (3)
Detroit (2)
Indiana (2)
Minnesota (2)
Charlotte (1)
Chicago (1)
San Antonio (1)
