Mercury Tickets Question

We are going to be taking a trip to Phoenix in May and will be seeing 5 D-Backs games and doing other stuff too. I would really like to see a game in US Airways Center just to see what the arena is like if nothing else. I am hoping the Suns will still be in the playoffs plus have a home game while we are there but if not the Mercury play on May 17th at 12:30 which would allow us to see that plus the D-Backs Tigers game after. I am not a fan of WNBA, don't know much about it, but it might be my only opportunity to see a game there at least for now.

My question is, are Mercury tickets any big deal? I know they are good and won the championship but how big are they in Phoenix? The tickets through ticketmaster are not on sale yet and the cheapest thing they have available is $10 seats. Would I be able to get similar seats on eBay or Stubhub for any less than that or should I go ahead and get the $10 seats from ticketmaster?

you can easily buy them the day of - seriously, it's the WNBA - worst case is you pay face from a scalper and not have to deal with convenience fees

if all you want to do is see the arena look to see if they do tours - i honestly don't know - UofP does as well as Chase and jobing.com will if you call them to arrange it - not sure what USAir has as a policy

Yeah I figured they weren't any big deal or anything I just knew the Mercury were really good and I wasn't sure if that caused tickets to be in high demand or what. I know nothing about the WNBA and it's obviously not that popular but I thought it could be there in Phoenix since it's a great NBA town and the team was good.

I wouldn't mind doing the Chase tour. We are going to D-Backs games but it would be cool to take the tour and go in the dugout and everything. Hopefully UofP and Jobing.com will be doing tours while we are there because I'd definitly like to see those.

Thanks.

the UofP tour was really good - i did one at chase and it was alright - we couldn't go to any of the clubhouses because it was the day of a game, but we did get to stand in the front row for some BP, which was neat

best baseball tour i've been on is coors field - they let us out in the field and took pictures of us in the dugouts - it was also in between the playoff rounds so we got to raid the media guides from the just finished season

i know that last year attendance was easy for the mercury - check some box scores to see what the listed attendance is once the season gets going - if it looks like a full house it may be worthwhile to buy in advance - they pull around 7-8k per game on average and the finals got up to around 12k per game
