Right now there is not a very good server-side option for vbulletin wrt spell checking.
One program that some have recommended (I have not tried this out) is iespell, which is an Internet Explorer plug-in that supposedly allows you to spell check before posting on websites, including forums.

We need a BIM proof spell checker...is this still being looked at. It can't be that difficult to add could it?
*sigh* yes it is very difficult to do from the server-side because 1) that means a dictionary needs to be maintained and 2) It will mean that non-dictionary words like Stoudemire, McCown, Assface, Bidwill and whatnot would be flagged on every post for correction.

I like the BIM system. Seems to work.
Well some people want to quitely know what words they've mispelled instead of being made fun at I would just like a normal spellcheck like you have on an email where they just go through the words and let you skip the words you don't want changed....
