I see ads and text on the message boards. Nothing else. The front page is fine.

Right, I started getting lots of red X's a couple hours ago. But it looks like you aren't classed as a contributor, if you're supposed to be -- that cuts into what you can access, too, as I recently experienced first hand. Guess you better report it to tech. Hopefully someone will deal with it promptly.

So, is anybody from admin actually doing anything? It isn't critical, but it is annoying.

There was a service problem with our Amazon S3 servers. These machines serve the images (including sigs, avatars and emoticon). Service has since resumed so the site should be back to normal

And servers are in the US! see how fast I learn?

But yeah, there's a 10 hr difference in terms of workday. (I'm making arrangements for a Sept trip and have to get up before 5 AM or stay up past midnight to reach people directly.) Plus the weekend there starts around 5-6 AM our Friday morning, until around 11 PM our Sat night -- very high traffic times here. Not to mention lots and lots of holidays.

That said, once someone is paying attention, stuff gets fixed.
