New Post Marker

When I am reading the posts, the "Go to New Post" Marker in front of the thread irritates the heck out of me.

Sometimes it stays there for several hours when I'm browsing - and then sometimes just 15 minutes.

Is there an explanation as to why this changes or can it be changed manually like "Posts within the last hour" or something similar?

Sounds like your experiencing either an OE problem or it's an ID-10t problem.

Check with your IT representive to be sure.

There is a link at the bottom of the page to Mark All Forums Read...if that helps at all.

The arrows shouldn't stay around forever, but sometimes they just do...no clue why.

Amish rake fighters don't have IT representatives.

Vbulletin is session based, it updates your cookie when you log on and starts your session.

The arrows stay while your session is still active. If there is no activity for 5 mins (or you click on log out), the session times out and your session ends. The arrows start over the next time you come back to the site.

Cool! So what you are saying is that you go hours at a time without even a 5-min break from the forums!

That deserves a raccoon!

No - the inactivity thing makes sense.

Sometimes I may be on the board for an hour or so & the arrows don't go away. But if I am replying to a post with a long response, then sometimes the arrows are gone.

Thanks
