I think that the arcade is causing the slowness.

Is the arcade gone as well as the header? If not, where do I find it?

PS-- if it's really gone, someone owes me $1000 ASFN bucks.

I don't think that it is gone forever. They are doing some testing to figure out why it is making the site slower.

The new header and everything is still there.. Just click on the home link and its all there..

I think he was referring to the inability to highlight. I made the same mistake this morning.

Much faster this morning. For what it's worth, fanball and cbssportsline were also slow for me yesterday, while other sites were fast.

I'll try writing an article this weekend to test that feature.

As you all noticed we have removed the header since this was causing long load times. A side effect of removing the header is that now we are missing the new menu items. I'll work on the current ones to reflect the new site functions.

Aside from the long load times - any other issues you think we should focus on?

Just to let you know that I've updated the links in the header to point to all the new features.

They are pretty self evident:
Home - Goes to the new homepage. From here you can submit articles for review and also read other users articles.
Chat - The chat room
Forum - I guess you know what that is since you are reading this post
User Blogs - This feature allows users to post in their very own blog space.
Fan-Photos - Our very own gallery. You can upload pics you want to here.
Arcade - links to the new arcade feature. Note that the games cost A$FN10 a piece to play. You can purchase a free pass for A$FN1000 but if you do you won't be eligible for the jackpots.
Support ASFN - Help with the running cost of the site.
Contact - Puts you in touch with me.

On Blog and Gallery -- can you actually post pics IN a blog? Or do pics only go to the Gallery? Can a blog and gallery be easily linked? (Yes, I could explore, but time is running tight.)

Other than the long-promised - but definitely not urgent - smiley overhaul, everything seems pretty good.

I still am curious... what do you guys DO with the A$FN dollars you collect?
