Nascar Poll

CQ requested that there should be a poll done to find out.

Quote:
How many NASCAR fans are on here? Just curious! Maybe someone should start a poll to see.
Who would really enjoy having a place dedicated to talk about Nascar, a place for Nascar enthusiasts and diehards???

Who has mixed feelings about it, such as they don't love it, but don't hate it either. It is sometimes OK to watch when the only other thing on TV is golf or tennis, just for an example golf and/or tennis fans, no harm intended...

Or who absolutely hates it and wishes the sport would just go away forever???

And BTW, for all the Nascar haters and bashers, I hate basketball and fantasy sports. I just choose not to click on those forums, but for the people who love that stuff, they have their place to openly talk about it. So, what's wrong with having a place dedicated to Nascar which will be for the fans of Nascar and those who enjoy going to Phoenix Int'l Raceway???

As for me, I pretty much watch racing from the season's beginning in Daytona up until kickoff time in September. Once football season begins, I have no more time to keep up with it....

Doesnt mean they are future fans. Might mean they like the idea of rednecks pumping our economy full of money.

NASCAR is a great sport. It draws attention if you follow it closely, it's not boring at all if you pick a driver to your liking!

I watched the Daytona 500. I had a vested interest in a driver (Boris Said). I tried my best to like it. Then, I tried my best not to hate it. Now, I hate it (still).

Sorry. I think motor sports suck.

Well, Gee called a few times today during the race. He was pumped up!!! He'd jump thru the phone if he could I think. And he has never liked racing before in his life, but after today, he's starting to get it, or at least some of it. The rest will come later. But he did say if it weren't for Gordon, he wouldn't have liked it. Everybody has their driver, and if their driver is not doing good, well what really is the point to watch it??? That would be like still loving football, but if the bears and lions are playing on MNF, no thanks, I'll pass on that one. Just let me know the next time the Cards are on tv.

I think if Gee could, he would delete his vote above for having mixed feelings, and re-vote for loving it. Cause he was going absolutely flippin nuts today on the phone!!!!

Great job Gee

I disagree. I love football first, the cards second. I'll watch the Jags and Panthers on TV if that's the only game on. Football kicks arse...and it's fun to root for your team.

It sounds terrible, but the most exciting part of today was when a tire flew off or there was some other kind of wreck. Other than that it was super-boring to me.

I want to make it clear to you BRV, that I'm not trying to say you shouldn't enjoy it--it's just that I don't. I really, really don't.

BTW, I think this was Boris Said's first oval race. He's been an off-road racer most of his career.

Nascar's great and all, IMO, but I don't see the need for a dedicated forum...just talk about it in World Sports.

Unless the NHL goes under - then we'd have an open spot in the Big 4 sports for NASCAR.

Hey that's all cool with me. Everybody has their own flavor that they like. I absolutely hate basketball, and I will only watch hockey at an arena, never on tv. I'm so-so on baseball. Everybody has their own things they like, I know nascar isn't for everybody. And I've never tried to force it upon anybody, at least I hope I haven't come across that way. I was hoping these threads would all die, but people keep posting in here.

Actually, nascar is truly a southern man's sport. At least that's the way it used to be. But since the popularity explosion, its nationwide now, and is ranked as the 2nd most watched sport on TV behind only the NFL according to Nielsen ratings, and its expected to catch the NFL in ratings if it keeps growing at the pace it is. The only reason I'm saying this, is because I do NOT like that. I wish it was still like it used to be back in the old days.

I had just felt that with the popularity boom, and 2 major races here every year, that there would be more fans on the board here who love it. But, apparently I was wrong in that assumption. But, there are a handful of us who do love it, and we will talk about it in the world sports area as we have been lately, and to those who hate it, my hope is that they would just not bash it, just dont click on the threads, change the station.

BTW, Pariah, I posted a cribbage thread in EE, I don't know if you saw it. Nobody responded. But I saw that you, dbackjon, and fischer all liked playing it. I was just kinda wondering if any of y'all wanted to go to an online site somewhere and play a few rounds. Let me know.

Hope Denver ain't too cold for ya, we'll see ya again at another tailgate next year

BIM, I gave up on the dedicated forum a long time ago. I had no idea there were so few fans up here for it. We have been talking about it in world sports, and Gee didn't waste any time in posting the winner's pic up there. I guess somebody told him Gordon wins alot of races, and he had to get on the bandwagon

Big 4 sports???? Like I put in Pariah's response above, Nascar is ranked as the #2 sport in the country, second only to the NFL. It's just for whatever reasons not the 2nd ranked sport in Arizona
