100 x 100 avatars?
Just throwing the idea out there.

Most icons used are 100 x 100. I think it's pretty standard.
Live Journal, other messageboards, most go up to 100 x 100.
Sometimes icons look better with than extra 15

I don't have any heartache with whatever Mike decides, but I personally prefer the 85x85 for a site like this.
I think it is a good balance between allowing avatars and not being intrusive, and keeps the board a bit more professional looking and tidy.
Plus, avatars are stored in the database and served from ASFN's host, which would have some impact on Skkorp's disk space and bandwith allowance.
Also, swd's and seattlecard's avatars are bad enough as it is. If they upped them to 100x100 I would

Some sites allow "established" posters to take up more space.
for example:
0-99 posts: NO AVATAR
100-9999 posts: 85x85
1000+: 100x100
Something like that might free up space, no? Also, maybe you could set something in motion that deletes a poster's avatar that hasn't posted in a certain amount of time. I'll bet there are a bunch of posters that haven't been around for months or even years that are taking up space with an avatar.
Just suggestions. I don't really have an opinion either way.

I like this idea, but I am wondering if we can even do it.
Bob, any ideas?

Yes, that feature is native to the software and fairly easy to set up.

I didn't activate it. I just told Mike that it was a possibility. I need to talk with him about some tech details first assuming he wants to do this.

Yeah, I have no idea how to set that all up...I'm sure I could figure it out.

I didn't even know what you were testing. I just didn't see anything special, so I thought I'd let you know.

The test wasn't a success, your sig still sucks.
