Czech folk:

Antonin Dvorak (composer)
Karl Jansky (discovered cosmic radio waves)
Jaromir Vejvoda (wrote "Beer Barrell Polka")
The Good King Wenceslas (immortalized in the Christmas carol of the same name)

I also believe that there were a number of famous/important people born into the Austrian Empire that later became Czecholslovakia and even later the Czech Republic such as Sigmund Freud.

Yeah lets not get into all this. For every great german you can probably post 2 or 3 monsters. Not that I mind. I find a race of warriors to be appealing.

Its been said Germany is an army without a country.

I dn't think it has to be Germans. I took it to mean your country of heritage.

And, sure, you can name monsters from every country, but that doesn't negate the things the great men and women have done; just because Hitler was German doesn't mean Bach's music is less beautiful or Wagner's less moving.
