Who makes the best ice cream cones?

It's summer and it's hot, and in the past few weeks I have been eating a lot of ice cream cones. I have been going to Penguins and buying chocolate yogurt cones. I also am buying Drumsticks at the grocery store. Where are the best ice cream cones to buy in Arizona and what are your favorite brands from the grocery store?

Oooh, you just hit on one of my favorite topics--ice cream!!!

There is an old-fashioned ice cream place called Mary Coyle's; it's around 15th Ave & Thomas! I haven't been there since I was a teenager (quite a few years ago), but oohhh did they have good ice cream!!!! Now adays we tend to frequent the common, convenient places like DQ and Coldstone--also good, but not even in the same league! I also love TCBY, which stands for The or This Country's Best Yogurt--it was a frozen yogurt place; so good, but the only one I know of is at the Airport...

As for store bought ice-cream, we try to eat the healthier stuff (well, somewhat healthier.)

:hearsharleychuckleinmyhead:
:shakeshead: - much better

I really like the Healthy Choice ice creams and the Dreyer's Light--they are very tasty and I feel better about eating them! Great, now I think I have to send my husband out for ice cream!

It is funny that you changed your avatar. I was just thinking about that yesterday.

I had an old Fruity Pebbles commercial jingle in my mind when it occurred to me that the daughter's name on the Flintstones was Pebbles. It seems a bit odd to me that they would name the cereal after after the child.

I guess they were referring to the shape of the cereal, but I don't think I will ever be able to eat Pebbles again.

Thrifty ice cream used to rock! I could get a triple cone for like 70 cents back in the day. I wonder what happened to that franchise? The one by my parents house turned into an Osco

You used to be able to buy it at Walgreens Drug stores and you're right about it being the best you could buy. I haven't bought any there in years so I don't know if they still sell it.

They have it at "Water and Ice" (not Water 'n' Ice) over at Price and Baseline.

Man, if I had a dime for everytime a guy's told me they couldn't get me out of their head, I'd be...broke--dammit!

It's actually one of my many nicknames from high school. I would sometimes wear my hair in a high pony tail and wear big, I mean big azz, earrings... Hey, it was the style--I was cool!

While we are talking Soft Serve (McDonald's) we need to talk about COSTCO's frozen soft serve... That is the best to have walking about COSTCO...

I know it isn't ice cream but it is close and it is really good...

That counts in my book--I almost always get one on the way out; swirl!!! We also have a Weinerschnitzel (sp?--sorry BIM) that just opened not too far away, and they have a Tastee Freeze inside...ummmm! Did I mention, I love ice cream!!!

Better idea! Come over to my house. When we were at a friend's house in California, we created an alcoholic ice cream drink that tasted like a caramel apple! Best of both worlds! A nice buzz and ice cream, all at the same time!

Ok, so this will look weird, but if you make this just like I say here, I bet you'll be surprised how it tastes like a caramel apple! I will warn you, it is VERY RICH!!! My friend, Kari, named this "Everything but the stick"

One banana
Four strawberries
One scoop strawberry shortcake ice cream
Three shots Malibu rum
Five shots vodka
One large spoonful of peanutbutter
Two tablespoons chocolate syrup
Ice

Put everything in blender. Mix till smooth. Enjoy!

Makes three 6 oz glasses
