Pretty obvious here...but I used to live in Phoenix, and it was Phoenix Mike for a good long time...but I moved, and it was time to show my loyalty to the beautiful little town of Chandler

Well I used to be Zona98 but could not use it on this board.
Zona for Arziona Cardinals and 98/99 when I joined the Rivals site. Was born and raised in ALton, Ill and a true diehard Cardinal fan.
Now on to the Cubs can't stand them! Used to live in Central Ill and use to fight all the Cubbie fans becuse they were always drunk and loud mouthed bashing the cards.
Been to 12 games at Bush Stadium and the Cards have won all the games. Boy were they glorious days to be had.

As for the AAA team on the southside with their concrete jungle stadium, well you can have them
The failure to identify you was added for "comic relief" (i.e. now that I knew you were a Cub fan....) But you're only kidding yourself. If push came to shove and they played for the NFL title your true feelings would come out. It's like those weak sisters who claim to be "Chicago" fans when it comes to baseball. Everyone knows there's no such thing. Even the 300 or 400 hundred actual fans amongest the yuppies who go to wrigley field. But you've motivated me to pull out my tape of the July game this year where the Cubs were up 8-0 only to have the Sox pound Kerry Wood and win 13-9. Want a copy?

Dang Baseball Cardinals - hate them!! From 5th grade on was spent in Springfield, IL - definate baseball Cardinal territory. Used to get into major arguments with Card fans. It didn't help any that the Cards where really good about, the Cards AAA team played in Springfield, and Bake McBride was from my neighborhood - all three combined to make everyone else Cardinal Fans.

I even said in my reply to Brian that Bears are 1st on the list and there is no denying that. If they play for the NFC title, then I will be rooting for the Bears, plain and simple. Never said anything contrary to that. I am no different from about 75% of the Phoenix population when it comes to the NFL. I have my diehard loaylties where I came from but I root for the Cards...unless they play the Bears.

As for a copy of the tape, I would rather have the tape of the highly intelligent WS fans who jumped Gamboa from behind. Believe it or not, it was scientifically proven they did have the highest intelligence at the game that night.

Sadly, you are right about the fans at Wrigley. Many go there to be seen and act like fans but many couldn't name a player past Sossa or Wood.

Oh and Stronzo I know what you mean. My wife is from Sicily and every Sunday I don't go over to her sisters to eat pasta and the likes because I need to listen to the Cards on the Radio. I think I get called that about 5 times on Sundays. Stronzo also means dumass or jerk.

Great. A Cardinals baseball fan. Thought I had enough to deal with ChiCard and his love of the Chicago AAA team.

While I can't stand the Cards baseball team, I must say a couple things. First, the fact they didn't mail it in after JB and DK passed away was great. A testament to their desire. Second, it has been a one sided rivalry but one of the best baseball has to offer.

Finally, I hope we kick you butts all over the place next year.

Unfortunately, most of the good HS basketball players go/went to Lanphier - not Southeast, where I went.

I don't know if you heard about it out there AZ but those guys admitted in open court to actually being Cub fans. The Court thereafter immediately allowed them to plead not guilty by reason of insanity.

Actually the story I heard was they are deluxe level season ticket holders for the White Soxand they were guests in the owners box. Apparently they were encouraged to do this by the higher ups since the only way anybody knows there is a second team in Chicago is when things like this happen. Since they couldn't repeat disco demolition night, they decided to have kick the crap out of a visiting coach night.

That is what the White Sox get for luring people into their stadium by offering free beer every half inning.

Funny reply by you by the way.

Well, my last name is "Green", and in freshman English class in high school the teacher called me "green machine". I like it. I don't use caps out of laziness, I think.

Thanks for your answer.

I believe you must choose one team per sport and throw all of your support behind it.

If you ever root against "your team" then it's obviously not "your team."

There's nothing more ridiculous than being at a Cards' loss and hearing the alleged Cards' fan next to you say "Well, at least my Broncos beat the Raiders today..." Gimme a break.

When I walk out of Sun Devil Stadium, I know whether MY TEAM won or lost, I don't need to check the scores to see how my "other team" did. It's Cards 100%.

Go Cards!!!

Jon = Jon

ny = New York, where I grew up and spent the first 21 years of my life

az - Arizona, where I have lived the last 10.5 years of my life

Best handle so far has to be Stronzo, with a close 2nd place to LarstheRed, which based on his own admission might be the renaissance translation for drunk a$$hole!
