Whats So Great About Vegas?

I have so many friends that love going to Vegas.. Well, the ones I really get along with dont like to go.. I just understood that..

To me, Vegas is just a fake Phoenix..

I dont love to lose money, never been a gambler, never will be.. So take away that what else is there? There are no major sports.. Just a city built on deceiving folks.. Its a city in the desert.. Oh we got that here plus much more..

I think I dispise Vegas so much is because its a city built on money, and the residents there like it that and even bring it up in their arguements..

Now dont get me wrong, I have friends and family their, and they say exactly what I just said as their arguements.. But I dont have to argee..

Oh, I thought of this because of the NBA all star game in Vegas.. That was stupid to have it there in my opinion..

plus im exhuasted trying to move..

Vegas is fun the first time because you can't believe what is there...the huge casino's...the almost "theme park" look to the place when you walk down the strip, like New York, New York, or Paris, etc.

It's a blast the first time you go...but the more I've been there, the more sad it gets and the more I end up leaving wondering why I even went.

Funny I work up there A LOT and I get to drive up there on Friday for a bachelor's party this weekend

I kind of have the same feelings Gee. The whole "Sin City" thing doesn't appeal to me anymore.

Haven't been there (not 21 yet) but I plan to go sometime soon after I do turn 21. I agree though, it's probably not a place I'd like to live or even visit very often. You can gamble anywhere if that's your thing (seems like casino's are popping up everywhere these days) and I agree, other than that, there isn't much in Vegas. I like PHX much much better.

Anyone living in Arizona and over 21 has no excuse not to go once.

Vegas isnt Just about the gambling. Its literally the entertainment capital of the world IMO. You have more entertainment options here than anywhere including LA and New York. You have the largest variety of big production shows such as the cirque du soleil genre, Mel Brooks The Producers, Blue Man Group, Danny Gans, etc... etc... the list really just goes on and on. You have the largest # of big name entertainers coming here to do concerts including 3 who are here full time like Toni Braxton., Elton John, and Celine Dion.

We have the biggest events in Boxing and have for decades. That in itself makes this a big time sports town or used to. Boxing has faded as of late IMO.

The NBA all-star came here because it is a city big enough to handle it, It is a city that most people love coming to especially the players! It is a city that has been on the short list mentioned to have an NBA team at some point.

If people come here to just gamble then they havent even begun to enoy what this town has to offer. Phx couldnt even come close with entertainment options unless you are strictly talking sports. You wont find the same kind of high class clubs that you have here either.

Plus there is just a seediness to this town that you just dont get in other places. I really cant explain it. Its obviously a great city and a majority of people around the world agree. Thats why we are a regular destination and funnel almost 50 million people through our Airport alone each year. Thats not counting all the people that drive here which makes it around 150 to 200 million people. You can gamble anywhere. But people still choose to come here for a reason. You just cant replicate Vegas.

Now all that being said This is not my first choice as a place to live. But Im stuck.
