USPS Question

Does anyone know if I can request that I don't get anything delivered to my mailbox addressed to "resident?"

And, can you think of any reason why I might not want to ask them to do that?

I have an old house that has a mail slot. It's pretty thin and seems that every other day mail is getting stuck in it because of all of these circulars. I'm convinced that I've thrown important mail away because it's been mixed up in this crap.

I don't know if you can, but I doubt it. Wish I could. I can't think of any good reason not to, though.

No. By law anything that can be delivered must be.
