Leaving a job because you chose not to settle, but rather to stick with your guns.
(You may see this in the "things that suck" thread in a few months though, lol.)

Good for you. It will work out for the better in the long run.

This comes with a "please remember I live in a town with less than 2,000 people" frame but I just got out of town recently to a Safeway (137 miles away) as we decided to go for a drive to get groceries.
It was great. Meat was cheap. Produce was good. But the kicker was we bought a HaagenDaaz pint of salted caramel truffle and it is one of the most surprising greatest things I've eaten in awhile. Right up there with a wild boar hot dog I had in Denver a few weeks ago.

Did you decide to stop teaching? I envy you. I'm working towards it. I think my talents are wasted and I put up with too much bs.

I decided to stop teaching years ago, though I have kinda gone back and forth, depending on how things were going at my school. The problem has been getting a job outside of teaching. That won't be the case this time though. I am certain of it.

I just got a job offer to teach at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, GA. It is just a small raise but it will be a good change for me, plus I really like southeast Georgia, really pretty area. It is a paid move here (but no home buy back unfortunately) and then a paid move when I leave in 5 years. I am pretty excited about taking this next step in my career.
