Ack. Had to google it.
I plan on "going Bada" this holiday season, knocking out a ton of movies, as I have 16 days off.

I don't know what kind of electrical engineering you're doing now or what your background is, but my workplace is still hiring. After two years you can work from home anywhere in the USA.

Bummer. My friend told me today that, after the new year, he and his coworkers are all taking a 10% pay cut.

Rules: Finding the Dark Knight Bluray for $14.99
Sucks: Selling out online and not allowing me to do in store pickup.

Boo!
Hey, DCR, how much would a decent but cheap "home theatre in a box" cost me?

Depends on what you consider decent. I'd say you can find an Onkyo HTIB for around $400.
I have a spare 5.1 set that Linder wanted me to give to you when you were here, but I want to put it on Craigslist for like $150. I spent $800 or $900 (with a discount) on then when I worked at MTX.
If you are interested in those, let me know.

I agree about the Onkyo HTIB. Definately decent surround sound systems for the 4-600 price range. Never buy anything with the dvd player built in already though...
Also beware that if the receiver has HDMI inputs, they'll probably only pass through video, no sound.

In the 4-600 price range, you're right. If you still use analog outs for audio though.

Yeah, that's what I was referring to. It's ok though, you'll never notice the difference between fiber optic and HDMI for sound at that price range anyway. Just sucks to have to buy extra cables.
