That falling sensation

When sleeping and you feel like your falling.....It's called the "hypnotic jerk".... which I thought had a totally different meaning altogether

What do they call the one where you're standing on a tower barely big enough for your feet about 1000 feet in the air? That one doesn't result in a good nights sleep.
